A Global Security Journey
Welcome! I am Dr. Andreea Mosila, a global security scholar who recently defended my doctoral dissertation at American Public University to earn a Doctorate in Global Security. My research examines a range of critical issues, including space security, climate-related threats in river deltas, pandemics, and natural disasters, with a particular focus on their impact on island nations and vulnerable ecosystems.
I teach political science as an adjunct professor at Georgia Military College and previously worked in science support at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. As a 2024–2025 Fulbright Scholar, I am conducting fieldwork in Romania’s Danube Delta, where I examine the human security impacts of climate change and governance.
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking the local peaks of Southern California and exploring the forests of Romania. Whenever I travel for conferences, I make a point to hike in each new location.
Hiking supports a balanced lifestyle and provides physical, mental, and emotional benefits that enrich both my academic work and personal well-being.
Two roads diverged in a wood and I – I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. – Robert Frost
